Panelist Bios:

Richard P. Sleasman

Richard Sleasman, SIOR, has been with CBRE-Albany since 1984. Licensed as a broker in 1987, Richard is now responsible for brokerage services in the Albany, NY office. He became a Principal and Vice President in 1999, Executive Vice President in 2007, and currently is President/Managing Director. During his 27 years in brokerage, he has leased or sold over eight million square feet of space. Installed as a member of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors (SIOR) in 1991 with an Active Industrial designation, he was later elected the Upstate New York Chapter President in 2001-2002 and currently serves in a national position. In addition, he has served as president of the Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Brokers (CIREB) and was elected its Outstanding Member of the Year in 1996. He currently serves on the board of Capital Region NYSCAR. He lives in Colonie with his wife Terri and three sons.

 Richard Ferro

Richard Ferro has been engaged in commercial real estate brokerage for twenty-two years, with a concentration in office, warehouse and investment properties.  For the past fourteen years, he has been Principal Broker and Manager for Prudential Blake Commercial, REALTORS®.  With a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering and a Master’s Degree in business administration, he held various positions in the corporate manufacturing environment prior to joining the real estate industry.  He received his CCIM designation in November of 2003 and is currently the President of “CIREB,” the local association of commercial real estate brokers. He has served in board and officer positions with New York State Commercial Association of Realtors, the Schenectady County Chamber of Commerce and the Schenectady County IDA.  He is also a New York State certified real estate instructor. 

Felton McLaughliln

Since joining NAI Platform, Felton McLaughlin has focused on the office market in Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady counties. Areas of focus have been Albany where he is on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District, and Colonie, where he chaired the Colonie Business Council for 2 years. As a private investor in Albany’s Center Square neighborhood, he has also focused on the brokerage of investment properties. Before joining Platform, he was a partner in a Capital Region real estate investment group. Portfolio properties included multi-family and commercial properties in the Capital Region. Because of his background with technology start-ups, he has also been active in Tech Valley Angels Network, High Peaks Venture Partners, and the Al-Tech Technology Acceleration Fund, all Capital District investment groups dedicated to funding start-up companies in the region. Prior to his move to the Capital Region, Felton spent 15 years in and around New York City working in the technology industry with start-up companies supplying investment-oriented databases and software to Wall Street securities firms. While at Multex.com (now part of Reuters), he helped launch a real-time equity research service for investment managers which grew into a $100 million business. Prior to Multex, he worked at Thomson Financial and on Wall Street at Shearson Lehman Brothers.
